This week we are finishing unit 4 and testing. The unit 4 study guide is due on Tuesday and we are testing on Wednesday. Below I am posting some inequality extra practice, if needed to prepare for the test. The answer keys are also included. We will then spend the remainder of the week beginning unit 5: ratios and proportions.
Today I passed back the one-step equation quiz and went over the answers with the students. The grades have also been posted to Infinite Campus. During this short week, we are learning to write and solve inequalities. I am posting a PowerPoint below that will be used in class this week. We will then spend two or three days practicing these concepts and be ready to test unit 4 early next week. I will post a date soon. In the meantime, students should be working on their study guide. I have already posted the answers so students can check their work as they complete portions of the study guide.
The unit 3 test was returned on Friday. We also went over all of the correct answers. Students should have brought the quiz home to share. If not, please ask your child about their quiz. The quiz grade will go in Infinite Campus this week, so be sure to check out your child's average. This week we are continuing to solve one-step equations, including writing equations from word problems. An equation quiz is planned for Thursday. We will then spend the remainder of the week writing and solving inequalities. This is a short unit; therefore, we will be aiming to test around next Friday, the 19th.
Tomorrow, Feb. 2nd, we are testing unit 3. I will also conduct a spiral for check unit 3. I will be checking pages 25-37. Wednesday we will begin unit 4, equations and inequalities. We will begin the unit by learning to solve and write one-step equations. The unit 4 study guide will also go home by the end of the week. As always, the study guide should be completed as topics are covered in class.
