Week of November 27th

Today I returned and went over the unit 2 test. Students were asked to bring the test home tonight for you to see. The grades are also in Infinite Campus.

This week we are beginning unit 3: expressions. The unit begins by introducing exponents with both positive and negative bases and order of operations. The new study guide is also being handed out this week. The answers will be posted here to Weebly.

This week we are finishing up and testing over unit 2. The unit 2A test was returned and gone over on Monday. The students will take an adding and subtracting integers quiz on Tuesday. I will also throw in a couple of coordinate plane problems on the quiz. Students should use Part B and #'s 68-73 to help prepare along with the unit 2A test. After the quiz, we will begin covering how to multiply and divide integers. We will finish the week by covering this topic. The unit 2 study guide is due on Thursday. All problems should be completed along with showing proof of checking. The unit 2 test will be given on Friday. I will also complete a spiral check on Friday, so students should make sure their notebooks are ready to be graded. A copy of the spiral can be found on Microsoft One Note for the students to use as a comparison.

This week students will be using the rules they discovered to participate in various activities where they will add and subtract integers. Wednesday, students will play a game where they will need devices if they have them. Thursday, students will take a small quiz over adding and subtracting integers. I will also add a few review problems over the coordinate plane. Students should be working on part B of their study guide this week.

Later this week, I will return and go over the unit 2A test. Please look for this test to come home later in the week. Progress reports go home on Wednesday.
