We having been reviewing and preparing for the Georgia Milestones in class, but I have also posted some test practice under the Miletsones' tab above. I have posted 70 questions, which will be the same amount given on the actual test. I have also included the answers so students can make sure they are working the problems out correctly. I am not requiring students to complete these, but I am offering extra credit to those students who complete all 70 questions with the appropriate work shown. If your child would like to earn extra credit, they will need to print out the questions and complete them making sure to show all work. The extra credit is due on Monday, the 25th. Completing the problems will earn students an extra 100 which will be added to the "major" category in Infinite Campus. Because the extra credit is worth so much, students MUST thoroughly complete ALL problems and include ALL required work. I will not give partial extra credit.
This week we are completing unit 7: statistics. The study guide was handed out in class yesterday and is also posted here to Weebly. Even though we will complete unit 7 this week, we will not test until after Milestones. The study guide will be due on May 2nd and we will test over unit 7 on May 3rd. I have also posted I Can Statements for extra practice.

We are finishing up unit 6 and testing on Thursday. Below I am attaching some review problems we have used in class. The I Can Statements are also posted under extra practice along with the answer keys. Friday, we will start our last unit: statistics. We will finish covering mean, median, mode, and range. We will also review dot plots and histograms as well as learn to make and read box-and-whisker plots. The unit 7 study guide will come home next week, but we will not test over unit 7 until Tuesday, May 3rd.
On Wednesday, I will return the unit 5 test, so please be on the lookout for this test to come home for you to see. This week we are continuing our study of unit 6 by learning to find the area of composite figures and learning to calculate surface area using nets. The unit 6 study guide was sent home on Monday and is also posted here to Weebly along with answers. This will be a short unit because we have already been studying area during A squared. Because of this, we will test over unit 6 around Wednesday of next week so your child will need to be sure to keep up with the study guide. A take home quiz will be sent home on Wednesday for your child to complete. They may use their notes, but they may not seek help from parents or other people. They may not work with other students either. This quiz will be due on Thursday.
