This week we are wrapping up the first part of unit 2 by reflecting points on the coordinate plane. We will test over the first part of the unit on Wednesday. The test will cover sections A and E of the study guide. The "I Can Statements" and Coordinate Plane Problem Solving are posted under extra practice for students to use as extra practice. We will then spend the remainder of the week discovering how to add and subtract integers.

The coordinate plane quiz will be returned and entered into Infinite Campus later this week. Please look for that quiz to come home.
This week we are digging deeper with graphing on the coordinate plane. Students will be expected to solve problems including distance, area, and perimeter using points on the graphed on the coordinate. Towards the end of the week, students will learn how to reflect points and polygons on the coordinate plane. All notes given in class can be found in the students' spirals which can also be found on One Note. We will be wrapping up unit 2 part A and testing Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. The test will cover Parts A and E on the unit 2 study guide. I am also posting "I Can Statements" for unit 2A to be used for extra practice. This extra practice will be posted under Study Guides/Extra Practice. Midterms will be returned this week and grades will be recorded in Infinite Campus. Please look for this assessment to come home later this week. In class we are learning to graph and solve problems on the coordinate plane. Notes can be found in the students' spirals. During this week and next, students should be working to complete part E of the study guide.
Due to professional learning for gifted teachers, I will be out of the building Wednesday; therefore, I will not have tutoring on Wednesday. Tutoring will resume next week for those students needing to stay. This week we are continuing our discussion of integers and absolute value, with a concentration in how absolute value can be applied in real-life situations. The unit 2 study guide will go home on Tuesday. The answers will also be posted here to Weebly.
The math midterm will be given on Thursday this week. The test will cover concepts from unit 1 as well as part A from the unit 2 study guide. The answers to the unit 2 study guide can be found here on Weebly under the study guide section. Students are out of school on Friday and will not return to school until October 16th. Have a great fall break!!! |
